Valérie Mréjen is a French novelist, filmmaker, playwright and mixed-media artist. Her works of fiction include Mon grand-père (1999), L’Agrume (2001), Eau Sauvage (2003), and Forêt noire (2012). She has exhibited widely in France and abroad, and was an honorary
member of the Oulipo in 2001 and a Prix de Rome laureate in 2003. Her first feature-length film, En ville, was a Director’s Fortnight selection at
the Cannes Film Festival in 2011, and her children’s play, Trois Hommes Verts, premiered at the Théâtre Gennevilliers in 2014. She lives in Paris.
Katie Shireen Assef is a writer and translator living in California. Her prose and translations have appeared in journals such as Asymptote, M-Dash, PANK,
and Weird Fiction Review. She is currently translating the anthology Brussels Noir, to be published by Akashic Books in 2016.
