Stephan Eirik Clark's comic novel Sweetness #9 (Little, Brown 2014) was named one of the 25 best books of the year by the editors of Amazon Canada. That same year, Amazon America refused to sell the novel, because of a contract dispute with Little Brown's parent company, the Hachette Book Group. This is why we need donuts. Life is full of highs and lows. Stephan teaches in and directs the low-residency MFA Program at Augsburg University in Minneapolis. A supporter of independent bookstores, he sometimes wishes he lived in Vancouver or maybe Montreal.
