Maxim Loskutoff was raised in western Montana. His stories have appeared in The Southern Review, The Gettysburg Review, Witness, Narrative, and The Chicago Tribune. Other honors include the Nelson Algren Award and an arts grant from the Elizabeth George Foundation. He has worked as a carpenter, field organizer, and bookseller, among many other things. He lives north of Lincoln City on the Oregon coast.
