Margaret Redmond Whitehead's work has appeared in Atavist Magazine, the Boston Globe, the Puritan, Narratively, Good Housekeeping, the Millions, and Transition, among other publications. She was a 2017 Literary Journalism Fellow at the Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity, and a 2018 Lambda Literary Emerging LGBTQ Fellow. She won the Puritan's 2018 Thomas Morton Memorial Prize in Literary Excellence in Fiction.
