Joshua Roebke

Joshua Roebke was born in Ohio, raised in Michigan, and schooled in Montréal. He studied theoretical physics and Spanish literature, and quit his Ph.D. to become a writer. He has edited in Manhattan, lived in Brooklyn, researched in Berkeley, and survived San Francisco. A few of his articles have appeared in the Best American Science and Nature Writing, the Kenyon Review, and Scientific American. He is finishing his first book, a social and cultural history of particle physics titled The Invisible World. The book will be published by Farrar, Straus & Giroux, and it won a Whiting Foundation Creative Nonfiction Grant. He now teaches and writes in Austin, TX.
