Jim Hanas

A native of northern Kentucky, I spent the ’90s in Memphis, Tennessee, before moving to New York. My short stories have appeared in publications like McSweeney’s, One Story, Fence, and the Land-Grant College Review. These and other stories are collected in Why They Cried (2010)—now available as a Joyland eBook from ECW Press. My nonfiction and humor pieces have appeared in dozens of publications, including Slate, Salon, Print, Communication Arts, the New York Daily News, and the New York Post. I am a co-curator of Adult Education, a “useless lecture series” that has been a frequent critic’s pick in Time Out New York and The New Yorker. I occasionally deliver lectures myself. http://jimhanas.com
