Erica Lorraine Scheidt's novel, Uses for Boys (St. Martin's Press), was named a Best First Book for Youth by the American Library Association's Booklist and nominated as a 2014 Quick Pick for Reluctant Readers. A longtime youth arts advocate, Erica is a teaching artist at Chapter 510, a Made-in-Oakland literacy and Writing Project. Erica has an MA in creative writing from the University of California, Davis and a BA in Writing & Poetics from Naropa University and was a 2012 Artist in Residence at Headlands Center for the Arts.
