Eileen Elizabeth

Eileen Elizabeth is a queer Appalachian essayist and poet living in Southern California. She is the cofounder of Boshemia Magazine, a British-American feminist arts and culture magazine. Eileen co-hosts the pop culture podcast What Else Are We Mad At? and is a columnist for drDOCTOR. Her work has appeared in the Los Angeles Review of Books, Bellevue Literary Review, Appalachian Review, the Appalachian Anthology of Writers, and Pangyrus. She teaches creative writing at University of California, Riverside, where she is completing her MFA in Nonfiction.  She is the cofounder of Boshemia, a US/UK arts and culture print magazine and global feminist collective for womxn and LGBTQ+ folks. As a part of her community engagement with Boshemia, she leads zine-making and poetry workshops in the UK and US. She believes in writing and performance as a means of empowerment and healing. Before returning to writing, Eileen moonlighted as a professional actor in the UK and produced documentary films and interactive exhibits for museums in Nashville and Washington, D.C.
