David Balzer is a Toronto-based author, editor and teacher. His writing on art and film has appeared in The Globe and Mail,The Believer, Artforum.com, ARTnews, Border Crossings and The Walrus. Contrivances, his first collection of short fiction, is forthcoming from Joyland/ECW Press in April 2012. He is currently at work on a novel.
