Colin Bassett's stories have appeared in journals like Fence, Barrelhouse, and the Mississippi Review, among others. He is the author of two fiction chapbooks, Boring Meadows (Greying Ghost Press) and Miserable Fish (Mud Luscious Press). His story "This Is So We Don't Start Fighting" was listed as a distinguished story in Best American Short Stories, and he was recently a nonfiction finalist for the Black Warrior Review Contest. He is a graduate of the MFA program at Washington University in St. Louis.
