ABOUT

Joyland Publishing is an independent nonprofit publisher founded on the idea that fiction is an international movement supported by local communities. 

Joyland Magazine, established in 2008 by Emily Schultz and Brian J Davis, is an award-winning online literary journal. Our stories have been included in Best American Short Stories and published in the Journey Prize Anthology

In 2025 we launched Joyland Editions, a small press publishing two novellas every year. Joyland Editions is edited by Madeleine Crum and Michelle Lyn King. Our debut title is Information Age by Cora Lewis (July 2025). Joyland Editions is distributed by Asterism Books.

SUBMIT

Joyland Magazine accepts unsolicited submissions of fiction year round.

Joyland Editions will be accepting unsolicited submissions of novellas between 20,000-60,000 words from March 1-March 31, 2025. 

Submissions for both Joyland Magazine and Joyland Editions are accepted via Submittable.
